Development Centres

OPS development centres are planned and structured to meet the needs of our clients and to reflect their organisational environment. We design “holistic” scenarios that exist within a fictional organisation, akin to the structure, values and function of the client, to ensure that the candidates may identify with the situation and also be observed in a realistic setting.

For example, participants may be given a “promotion” in which they may face a convincing work crisis that progresses throughout the course of the Development Centre. Candidates might have to complete individual or group exercises or presentations responding to this crisis, adopting individual and collaborative approaches.

Psychometric testing may also be used as an additional development tool, depending upon the specific demands of the client.

Following implementation and observation of the Development Centre, OPS generally offer a combination of individual face-to-face, written feedback or executive group reports but are happy to adopt a different approach to meet the demands of our clients.

“The centre was run with great professionalism. The quality of the feedback provided by the OPS consultant was excellent and [the OPS consultant] facilitated a very worthwhile and focused discussion. I felt that the feedback session was definitely the most important part of the overall process. Well done!”
